Darold Brown was born in Miles City December 8th, 1941. His parents were Harold and Adele Brown. Darold attended school in Baker his eight through senior year. During this time he was living in the town of Ollie MT, which was twenty-two miles to Baker. While in high school and then after graduation, he worked for Colin Oilman on his ranch. Darold then married Juliet Birtic. Juliet was born in Baker on March 7, 1944 in Baker. When Juliet was born, Juliet and her mom, Margaret Birtic, had to stay at the hospital for one month because the snow storm was so bad. During this time, Juliet’s father, Frank, had to run the ranch on his own.. Juliet grew up with two siblings Joan and George. Juliet went to Hillmont school which was only 2 miles from there home. After Darold and Juliet were married, their first home together was a 12 x 64 trailer home.
Darold then started working at the Connoco Station before starting their painting business. A year later, they had their first child Amie July 7th, 1964 followed by Nicole born January 26th, 1972, then Tiffany born October 11, 1974, and lastly Kellie born April 21, 1978. I am writing this, Rilee Pettersen, as a current resident of the the former town of Ollie. My mom and I now live on the remnants of the old town of Ollie including some of the land where the Brown’s used to.
