Willard is located in southeastern Montana between of Baker and Ekalaka. Willard has a population of 41 people. Homesteader Fred Willard Anderson moved to southeastern Montana from Murdoch, Minnesota in 1909. He established a post office to which he gave a his name ("Anderson" was already taken)on the stage road between Baker and Ekalaka in 1910. With only 2 rooms in the house, Anderson put the mailboxes in his bedroom. He sold out to Charles Anderson in 1926, who moved the post office and store 1.5 miles to present-day MT 7 between Baker and Ekalaka. Elevation: 3,328ft. Location: Fallon County.
