The major portion of Ollie was located on Township 10 Range 60 Section 32. It totaled about 160 acres. The first homesteaders of Ollie were Ernest C. Stark, Tom Agnew, Anton Slater, and Hans Haydahl. These men had taken claims in 1907. Then Lee Greiner bought out the claims of Haydahl and Agnew and immediately built a General Store and Post Office which he named Ollie after his daughter, Ollie Greiner Larson. Later he had a telephone line extended from Carlyle. The town of Ollie died out around 1955 after the railroad declined. Better means of transportation and better roads meant the railroad was no longer the primary means of transportation.
