The Janz’s homesteaded in Fallon County, south of Plevna. Phillip and Justina Janz originated from DorfKloestiz in the province of Bessarabi, South Russia. They moved to Java, South Dakota in the 1900s. They moved there with five children, Adolf, Emilia, John, Anna and Reinhold. Robert Janz was born in Plevna in 1912. Adolf and Lydia married on February 21, 1920. After they got married they bought land one mile east of his father's land. They had five children, Lorene, Albert, Lillian, Edena, and Alice. They all had to help on the farm when they were old enough. Adolf built a dam next to his house for the community. The dam was very popular mostly on Sundays after church. The people would come swim, boat, and hangout with friends and family. He carried flat rocks to the dam and layered them on the bottom of the dam so that it doesn’t make a dike at the bottom. In the fall of 1960, Adolf Janz sold all his cattle. He also retired and moved to Plevna, Montana. He lived in Plevna until he died on May 30, 1968.
Albert married Alma Sultan and they had five children together, Richard, Joe, Cecil, Roxann, and Rebecca. Cecil passed away in a car accident on April 16th, 1972. Joe Janz married Judy Hoenke and had two children: Joseph and Georgia. They lived on the farm for awhile. Then he sold the farm and moved to Texas. They lived in Texas for a few years, moved back to Plevna. Where Joseph and Georgia graduated from high school. Joe and Judy moved to Baker in 1997. Baker is where they live currently. Eden and Bud move to Alaska and had seven children. Alice and her husband Charles lived in Miles City had four children together, Blaine, Michael, Mitch, and Sandra.
I wrote this as the great-great granddaughter of Adolf Janz. The great granddaughter of Albert Janz. The granddaughter of Joe Janz and the daughter of Joseph Janz.
