The goal of my advocacy project is to educate dog owners in the Mat-Su Valley about the negative impacts that dog poop has on the environment, in an effort to encourage proper disposal and reduce the overall dog poop pollution on local trails. The methods I chose to convey my message were creating an informational poster on Canva, then posting it at multiple trailheads in the Palmer area, as well as sharing the poster along with a sort of explanation of my project to local Facebook pages related to pets and hiking so it could reach a greater number of people in the community who might decide to change their behavior.
