For my project, I chose to advocate the impact of toxic chemicals that are used in cleaning products. I believe that if people are informed about the chemicals and the importance of eco-friendly products can have a positive impact on the environment and human health. Although switching to eco-friendly cleaning products is a small action that humans can do, it can eventually lead to a huge impact on the environment because of the materials that are used. Eco-friendly products are made with materials that can be recycled or there are stores that sell in bulk to refill what ever product you need. In Anchorage, AK there is a store called Blue Market AK and Alaska Community Action on Toxics works with them to ensure that consumers are getting sustainable products. Even though sustainable products can cost more upfront, I think that buying green products is a safe option.
