For this project I am advocating that the Palmer pool should implement recycling in its facility. I had lots of questions about the Matsu Borough’s recycling program which started in 2006, so I went to the Borough head of finance to get my questions answered. This was very helpful in knowing that the school district and the rest of the borough has different funding for the recycling program. I kept wondering why the Palmer pool was not a part of the funding for the recycling program. Through research I found that it is not very practical for the Palmer pool to recycle when it's such a small facility compared to the other borough buildings. The borough has a lot of funding for recycling every year, and it mostly goes to the schools which makes sense. I will continue to contact people who are a part of the Matsu Borough headquarters to recycle a part of the Palmer pool, and hopefully I can make a difference in my community.
