My project goal was to make people aware of their pet's ecological footprint and even provide ways to prevent it. To do this I set up flyers around the animal shelter and in adoption forms when new animal owners adopt a dog. These flyers briefed people on what an ecological footprint is and ways to have a better one. I also advertised by emailing local animal organizations a slide that helps reduce your pet's ecological footprint and help the animal shelters. Did you know that the food dogs and cats eat creates about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, which has about the same climate impact as a year's worth of driving from 13.6 million cars? Thats crazy!
