Main flyer describing the importance of greenspace. The QR code at the bottom links to the NRPA Park Advocate Handbook.
Have you every wondered why people build parks in a city? Why grass reduces airborne illness? Parks are an integral part of the well-being of society, and only you can advocate for their construction and maintenance! The goal of this project was broken into two parts: provide advertisement for the communities of the Valley (spreading awareness of greenspace advocacy) and partnering with organizations to fulfill a specific advocacy project (working on a plan for the construction of a new park). Huge shout out to Taylor Raftery, the executive director at the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation, for mentoring me in my advocacy. It is thanks to her that we have access to the park advocate handbook and the other ideas that it took to accomplish this goal.
Here's some more flyers regarding the services greenspace provides and how it contributes to a healthy ecosystem by reducing pollutions such as urban runoff and temperature. The QR codes can help direct community members to examples of greenspace advocacy.
