OfSTED Inspection of Aylward Academy
"Raising Standards, Improving Lives"
Following inspection in July 2021 we are pleased that OFSTED found that Aylward Academy continues to be a good school and there has not been a drop in the quality of education and safeguarding on offer for our students. In terms of the safety and wellbeing of our students, the report states that:
“Pupils describe the school as being a ‘community’. They value the friendships that are formed here. Pupils said that bullying was rare.”
“Pupils champion equality and look out for others.”
When reporting on the quality of the educational journey on offer at the school for our students the report states:
“Pupils described the school as ‘ambitious’. This ambition was seen in the work that has gone into developing the curriculum offer since the last inspection.”
“Leaders have high expectations of pupils. These expectations are evident as you walk around the school.”

Message from the Principal Mr Dele Rotimi :
It is a testament to the collaborative way staff, students and parents all work together in order to give our young people the very best chances of educational success and positive life outcomes. I am sure you will join me in thanking the staff and school leaders for the excellent work they have done in supporting our students in our ambition to ensure that they all live 'Remarkable lives'. My thanks are even greater because of the hard work put in over the course of an unprecedented and difficult 18 months in education. I would also like to thank my predecessor Mr Iafrate for his diligent and passionate leadership of the school.
