“Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.”

— John C. Maxwell

Further Education & Employability

Students are given careers information advice and guidance to support them in making informed choices about their future career pathway and destination after leaving the Sixth Form. This could be university, apprenticeship, internship, specialist colleges, and employment with training. One-to-one careers meetings are delivered and support offered for the completion of applications, personal statements, CVs and interview preparation.

We also create a number of opportunities for students to work with a wide range of employers, industry experts and organisations to develop key skills and attributes. These are delivered through workshops, tailored programmes, work experience, volunteering, careers fairs, visiting speakers, visits and trips. This year students have completed work experience and Industry Insight days with BBC, Twitter, Spotify, EE, Radio 1 Extra, Mercedes, BMW, Freshfields, Bank of England, Livity and MTV.

Our business links and partners include Ministry of Justice, BT, Goldman Sachs, ACCESS Aspiration (in partnership with Mayor’s Fund for London), RAF, The Army, NHS, Mindshare Academy, TfL, HMRC, The Old Vic Theatre Company, Education & Employers, The National Apprenticeship Service and NCS. We also work with a number universities and local businesses and employers.

We offer continual support to ensure that students leaving the academy secure appropriate ‘education employment and training’. Student destinations this year include University of Warwick, Southampton University, Kings College London University and Medway School of Pharmacy. Also apprenticeships with Mindshare Academy, NHS and North London Garages.
