Aylward Entitlement: Aspire 5

We believe every student at Aylward should access the Aylward Entitlement. This is an intentionally selected and spiralled enrichment offer that provides Aylward students the opportunity to have experiences that build cultural and social capital, preparing them to lead long, happy and successful lives that leave a positive legacy. 

Our Aspire 5 Entitlement trips are planned into our school calendar with meaning to support the delivery of our knowledge rich curriculum. 

Our Aspire provides our students knowledge and experiences that will make a valued contribution to their lives. Throughout their 7 year learning journey all students will have the opportunity to experience a broad range of experiences: 

Arts & culture: For example: Drama & theatre productions, Musicals, Art Gallery, Museum visit, Historical landmark.

Science & Nature: For example: Science center, nature reserve, field trips

Sporting event: For example;  Participating or spectating: Team sports, individual sports, outdoor activities, dance and fitness class 

Community & careers: For example: Local Library, Millfield theatre, Volunteering,  University visits, Employment visits. 

Academic: For example: Literacy trip, Maths trip, Languages trip, Rewards trip, STEM & Technology, Media & photography. 

Character Curriculum

Our Character Curriculum  at Lift Aylward is fundamentally defined by a set of core values that drive all we do, aspiring to nothing less than excellence in every endeavour. This commitment is deeply rooted in integrity, ensuring all actions are guided by honesty and strong moral principles. We foster a culture of genuine kindness and a collective pursuit that is  balanced by Self-Control. Our Character Curriculum empowers our students to make deliberate, thoughtful choices that align with their long term goals. Our curriculum inspires a love of learning and enables our alumni to go on to  lead long, happy and successful lives that lead a positive legacy.

 Positive recognition: 

We Praise and Recognise our students regularly through 3 key areas: 

1. Character focused: through our values of Excellence, Integrity, Kindness and Self-Control

2. Attendance: 100% attendance, Improved attendance and excellent punctuality

3. Reading: Caught reading, High number of Sparx reading points 

We praise and recognise students through a number of different ways: 

• Line ups: Morning readiness, Breaktime belonging (individual recognition) and Mini assemblies (group recognitions) 

• Teacher recognition: At the end of every lesson and half termly 

• Rewards based recognition: Half termly

PSHCE & RSE

Our PSHCE curriculum is a spiralled curriculum that promotes our community spirit and equips students with the knowledge and understanding to be a good citizen, preparing them for a competitive and rapidly changing world. The curriculum is delivered through literacy strategies to promote and develop fluent communicators, critical thinkers and to stimulate students' moral, social and cultural curiosity.
