This year’s cohort were in year 8 at the start of the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, with uncertainties and disruption as they prepped for their A Levels. The resilience and hard work shown by this group of students has been impressive, reflected both in their results and determination to do well.
To help prepare for this year’s examinations, the school provided each student with a laptop or device to access learning both in school and at home, and access to platforms to support their learning outside of school. Students were able to attend extra booster classes, before, during and after school, at weekends and throughout the school holidays, alongside supervised study periods to help with their independent study.
Principal at Lift Aylward, Joseph Lawlor, said:
“Today is a day filled with joy, pride, and celebration. At Aylward, our students are opening envelopes that represent not just grades on a page, but years of hard work, determination, and personal growth that enable them to achieve the future they richly deserve.
“This year’s A Level results demonstrate what can be achieved through living the values of Aylward: Excellence, Integrity, Kindness and Self Control. Our students have risen to the challenge, not only meeting the demands of key stage 5, but also navigating times that required extraordinary adaptability and strength. They have shown that, even when faced with uncertainty, they can thrive and succeed.
“To our students: you should feel incredibly proud. These results are proof that your effort, focus, and aspiration to achieve has led to the results that you deserve. Importantly they provide you with the life choices to secure the exciting future you have dreamed of. Whether you are heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, or stepping into the workplace we congratulate you. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter and the next stage of your development.

Behind every achievement are parents, carers, and families who have encouraged, supported, and inspired along the way. Once again, we say a heartfelt thank you, your belief has been a steady foundation for our students’ success.
