The current system in education for grades is: Grades are the current currency in our classrooms through points earned as opposed to the learning gain.

A Paradigm Shift: Homework should be thought of as practice and not counted toward the final grade. Quizzes are like a scrimmage and do not count toward the final grade. Tests are like the game and those scores do count toward the final grade.
