Market Day
Walt: write an interesting and detailed recount
Instructions:
You are going to be writing a full recount about your experiences at our Market day. You will need to be thinking about the proper features of a recount and using the rubrics to help guide your writing.
Plan
Open the template. You will see that 2 of the paragraphs have been planned for you, but two of them have been left blank. You will need to discuss with a partner and then the class, what you think should be in your recount.
Introduction
With your class you will discuss the elements of a good introduction. After writing you will be able to score yourself against the introduction rubric, and then given some time to improve your writing.
Following paragraphs
You will now have the opportunity to write your following paragraphs and conclusion.

What could it be?
Walt: use our inferencing skills to find meaning in the text.
Instructions:
You are going to be taking on the role of a reading/writing detective. Your first case is to read a passage of text that has words omitted. It will be your job to use your detective skills to solve the case of the missing words.
Open the cloze reading task - Number one
Wait for your teachers instructions.
You will need to work on the doc with a partner. One of you will need to share the doc with the other so you can work on it collaboratively.
You in a partner will have the allocated time to fill in and reveal the hidden words based on words you know, that will make the story make sense.

4. Complete Advice Column Activity
- You will be offering advice to someone who is looking at buying one of the two watches.
- You will need to review the watches and explain why you would suggest buying one or the other.
- Remember to use FREE TO USE images.
- Make sure your writing has correct punctuation, and makes sense.

The Trade Fair
Walt: add one main idea per paragraph
Instructions:
You are going to create a detailed recount of our trade fair from Friday. You need to focus on giving as much detailed information as you can so that your audience knows what you are sharing with them. Think about some of the following things that they might not know or understand:
Our currency - PTs and your internet banking accounts
What business group you are in and what you are creating/ selling
What happened to you and your business partners on Friday.
Million Dollars at the Mall
Walt: write effective paragraphs using juicy and exciting words.
Instructions:
Open the template doc and make yourself a copy.
Write about what you would buy from the mall if you had a million dollars from different stores, including JB Hifi, Toyworld, and Footlocker.
Creating a CV
Walt: create a curriculum vitae
Instructions:
This week you are going to create a CV to go with your covering letter. You will need to add in all of your achievements, so that your employer gets an idea of your skills and talents. Some of these could include; sporting achievements, learning awards, interests/ hobbies or skills. Think about all of the things that make you awesome!
To get started you need to open the 'curriculum vitae' link and make a copy. You can keep it the same of change it to look similar to some of the examples that I have given you. Try and fill this in to the best of your ability to get that
job. Have fun!
Job Application
Walt: write an application for a job
Instructions:
This week you are going to be writing an application for a job here at school. You can choose from a list of jobs or even create your own. Remember to think about and add into your application why you would be good for the job and what characteristics you have that make you the best applicant. Have fun and those who are able to make me laugh and keep me interested are more likely to get the job!
