FMPSD was recruiting French teachers in PEI several years ago. Ray Campbell was the Dickensfield Principal at the time and interviewed Cathy. He asked what French qualifications she had. Unfortunately she hadn’t taken French for many years. Ray decided to continue with the interview to give Cathy some interviewing experience as it was her very first interview and she had travelled from Nova Scotia. Cathy so impressed Ray that he offered her a teaching contract at the end of the meeting! Teaching with FMPSD began that fall at Clearwater Elementary School, starting off with grade 3. When the school closed she moved over to Dr. Clark School. She taught grade 1 for many years, and has been the LAC for the past 9 years. She has been happily married to Richard 15 years. They have two beautiful children, Matthew (13)who attends the Edge Hockey Academy, and Sarah (11) that attends grade 6 at Dr. Clark. During her free time, Cathy likes to read, travel to Hawaii, and to attend her children’s sporting events.
