Robert Reid
Rob Reid joined the Fort McMurray Public School District in 2005 hoping for a unique experience and challenge that would keep him growing as an educational professional. He got more than he bargained for and has become what he terms a "lifer" in this community. From boomtown to hometown Rob has seen his beloved city grow and blossom just as he has grown and blossomed many students in his career. Rob has been active in his support of extra curricular activities such as the robotics program, the Lord of the Rings cosplay club, the high school computer programming club, both spring and summer camps as well as his support of CTS program enhancements.
Rob divides his free time between supporting local community groups and his enjoyment of nature through long Birchwood Trail walks with his dogs and a big crunch sandwich from KFC. Rob enjoys international travel and has visited numerous countries including but not limited to England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Monte Carlo, Portugal, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Canada, the United States, Albania, Estonia, Mother Russia, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, North Korea, South Korea, Laos, Vietnam, China, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and New Zealand. Rob Reid believes life is an adventure and so primarily chooses not to stay in hotels but rather enjoys sleeping in caves, cemeteries, monasteries and the occasional church.
Rob is a seasoned teacher who enjoys mentoring new teachers while balancing his life long learning pursuits. Rob is currently completing his Masters degree at the University of Alberta in Instructional Leadership.
