Johnny Dulku
Johnny Dulku has spent more years in Alberta than in British Columbia, but will always be a Vancouver Islander at heart. He has two degrees and six years of education, first graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University, studying and doing undergraduate research in Chemistry and Nuclear Physics. Johnny then gained three years of practical experience in the field as an environmental chemist in Vancouver, before going on to complete a Bachelor of Education at the University of British Columbia.
Johnny's entire ten and a half year teaching career has been with Westwood Community High School and the Fort McMurray Public School District. He has sponsored many school groups in his years at Westwood, most notably the Green Initiative environmental club. With Principal Jessica Roy's support, Johnny and his students have so far won five environmental project grants totaling over $30,000, forged three sustainability partnerships with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and eagerly await word on yet another grant.
It is safe to say that Johnny is not retiring from teaching or environmental education anytime soon, and will be a proud member of the Fort McMurray Public School District for many years to come.
