Course Overview


    Pre-Calculus is a full year course that will develop the student’s skill in mathematics. It is for any student planning to take College Algebra, College Pre-Calculus or Calculus courses. This course is designed to cover topics in Algebra ranging from polynomial, rational, and exponential functions to conic sections. Vectors, Statistics, Probabilities and Trigonometry concepts such as Law of Sines and Cosines will be introduced.  Students will then begin analytic geometry and calculus concepts such as limits, derivatives, and integrals.

First Quarter:


  • Chapter 7: Trigonometric Functions

  • Chapter 8: Trigonometric Equations and Applications.

  • Chapter 9: Triangle Trigonometry

  • Chapter 10: Trigonometric Addition Formulas


Third Quarter:


  • Chapter 4: Functions

  • Chapter 5: Exponents and Logarithms

  • Chapter 6: Analytic Geometry

  • Chapter 13: Sequence and Series

  • Chapter 14: Matrices

  

Second Quarter:


  • Chapter 11: Polar Coordinates and Complex Nos.

  • Chapter 12: Vectors and Determinants

  • Chapter 1: Linear and Quad. Functions

  • Chapter 2: Polynomial Functions

  • Chapter 3: Inequalities


Fourth Quarter:


  • Chapter 15: Combinatorics

  • Chapter 16: Probability

  • Chapter 17: Statistics

  • Chapter 19: Limits, Series, and Iterated Functions

  • Chapter 20: An Introduction to Calculus
