See the Birds

Bird Photography

Photographing birds can be a workout. Sometimes I carry a heavy long lens, camera, monopod and binoculars during spring and fall migration. The telephoto lens allows for close-ups high in the trees, but I have to spot the bird first with the binoculars. Birds are particularly challenging to capture when active, which is basically most of the time. Capturing a natural pose, in native habitat is a thrill.
