2011 April 10 - the whites
Post date: Apr 12, 2011 11:48:46 PM
Two very warm days brought all white blooms to the woods: bloodroot, hepatica, anemone and dutchman's breetches.
We look forward to a rewarding season- bloodroot are dispersed all over the south-facing slope; new germination was good again this year.
The north-facing slope is seeded and 100% cleared of honeysuckle and blackberry brambles- we are anxious to see what comes up!
The wild leeks came back to the west-facing slope.
A bluebird pair have made their nest in the box provided.
Warblers stopped by and cardinals evaluated shrubs for nesting; they are still undecided.
