R Feb 2013 The Wolf Pack Rides Again!

Wednesday

It's been a couple years since I had a boys trip to Vegas, so I rounded up the usual crew. As captured in this rare shot below, from left to right we have Dumpster, DB & yours truly Grid, rocking out our Wolf Pack shirts before we leave. And true to form, no one said anything about what happened in Vegas. Our mouths were a steel trap, it didn't matter if we killed somebody. We would never speak a word of it. Well, besides this blog.

So everyone that reads this report can't tell anyone of these escapades.

#1 The Dumpster #2 DB #3 Yours Truly, Grid...

To avoid any likeness rights lawsuits we decided to put dumpsters picture on our shirts.

Flight out of Chicago is at 9:00AM and we land in sunny Las Vegas well before noon. First leg of the trip is Bellagio for 2 nights, comped with $75.00 in free play for me. Certainly not the best deal I have landed but good enough for us. The room was nice, it is Bellagio after all. With a lovely view of the expressway and the side of Caesars Palace. But what do we care, its not like the view will stop us from winning!

Spirit Airlines, the flight we booked, has a deal going with the D on Fremont street until the end of February. If you show up with your flight stub within 24 hours they will give you $50.00 in free play. Not like the horseshit free play Casino Royale or Hooters offers up on just a few "promo" machines.

You can use the D free play on almost any game in the house. So the plan is to get 24 hour passes for the buss and head over to Gold & Silver Pawn. I've done it before, its OK, but the other 2 watch the show so we head there first.

Middle of the week, that early in the morning the place was empty. Pretty much everything I saw last year was still sitting there. The prices they ask are insane. But I'm sure they draw in enough suckers that once they finally do sell something that's not a T-Shirt or mouse pad it's worth it for them.

We did get to see Olivia though. But she was sitting all by herself in the back. Almost everyone just walked past her, but she seemed like a cool chick from TV and I wanted to get a closer look at her Tattoos so we made friends with her. After talking her up for awhile we all took pictures with her, she even cracked out her Hello Kitty covered iPhone to take pictures of us for herself so I am assuming we are all BFF's now.

We leave there empty handed and walk over to Fremont street to pillage the D's generous offer. Sure as hell $50.00 all around. I manage to convert mine into $22.00 playing Jaguar Princess. I didn't even want to play it much but I ordered a beer so I had to do something while I waited.

DB actually turns his $50 into real money playing some lightening game that tickled his butt. But he ended up dumping that $60.00 in a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. The Dumpster on the other hand was an animal. He turned his $50.00 into about $320.00 after hitting a minor progressive on Voodoo.

We gamble on a little more, but don't drop any more money and we hop back on the bus and head for the strip. Dumpster and I play MyVegas on Facebook. You build up points by playing for free and flip that into real world comps. We had enough for a $50.00 dining credit at Delights @ MGM & 4 Buffet passes for Luxor. So that's where we head first. I hate to say this, cause most every one of MGM's buffets suck.

But the Luxor buffet...it's kinda good. It won't win any awards with the foodies in town, but for an average Joe's like us it was perfect. Good Mexican, pizza, meatloaf, etc. I'd actually pay for this thing again. And the place is still themed, unlike the rest of Luxor, and I love that! We head out of there and see a bank of Mummy slots right off the escalators. I only played these once before on my last trip in December with the wife, and I hit the Major progressive for well over a hundo so I assume that's the way it works every time I play it. Sure as shit!

Next up we hit NY NY. I'm now sitting at even and the rest of the Pack is down maybe a hundo each. So we are in good shape. NY NY slaps everyone in the face, we lose. Over to Monte Carlo where DB plays some Black Jack Switch but we still lose. I did get an insane bonus round playing Princess Bride at just $0.80 a spin. You have to pick a goblet. One had poison and the other money or a multiplier. I picked right every time and after 10 rounds of picking the shit out of those goblets I had $150.00 but was still down at the Monte.

We end up skipping Aria tonight and dump even more money at Bellagio. Everyone is hemorrhaging cash now. But they did let me take a picture of their "Year of the Snake" display so I guess we'll call it even.

As a last ditch effort, we go all in with what money we have left and hit up Mirage. DB sits down to play BJ and the Dumpster and I peel off to play slots. No monster hits but we slowly start stealing some of our cash back. The photo dump of that run is below and we both recoup most of the days loses.

DB, on the other hand, doubled down on a pair of paints at $200 a hand on BJ Switch. The dealer showed a 16 so he was about to be money. Boom Boom, he is sitting pretty with $800 on the table and a pair of "20's". The dealer draws a 5 for 21. Holy Shit. Well 2 out of 3 of us sleep soundly. Dumpster pulls this out on the new Pawn Stars slot on just a $0.50 spin

Thursday

Wake up early and take a quick run at Bellagio's slots again. DB manages to pull off his 1st picture worthy hit!

We hop on the free monorail at Bellagio, get off at Monte Carlo and head over to MGM for our free $50.00 dining credit. I have never hear of Delights before. Turns out it's at the signature. Get the comp form filled out at the Mlife booth and walk through the casino, through the food court, through the mini mall, past the pool, through a pair of doors and ride on about 6, so help me God, 6 moving walkways until we finally got there. From the time we walked in the casino and actually got there to eat an hour had passed.

It was good, the white chocolate french toast seemed to be popular. You can go outside and eat if you want. And you are sitting right across from the Cosmo. That's how far down you end up to get there. I could have walked across the street from Bellagio and saved time! But I'd end up having to scale a few fences and break some laws. Without it being free I would never go out of my way for this place. MGM takes from us all, so does Mandalay Bay but we are getting plenty of play at each stop.

We burn some more MyVegas comps at Luxor and have their buffet again. Good. DB plays some BJ and the dumpster and I hit the slots. We do OK. I hit for 500 quarters on probably the last run for your money in Vegas & DB takes $300 off them at the tables.

NY NY we lose...Again... Monte Carlo we lose... Again. We hit Aria to turn things around. The slot players do OK but DB gets slapped in the face again on the tables. It's still fairly early but we can't stop the bleeding. It seems like the day went by in a blink. Dump & I blow $500.00. DB blows a grand and the trip is taking a turn for the worse. Luckily, the monorail stop at Bellagio comes with a free peep show if you ever want to see. The station butts right up to the hotel and the floor to ceiling windows look right into the bathrooms! They look up so they never see you, we look down so we get the free show.

It's all about timing here. You have to look for a light and hope someone not only comes into the shitter, but they take a bath or shower. Finally after 5 minutes of waiting we get our first victim! But his fat hairy ass was not what we were hoping for so we move on. I assume this is a free legal show to watch and only voyeurs book these rooms. So peep at your own risk! The best slot hit of the day is below, we check out in the morning.

Friday & Saturday

Check out of the B and into Planet Hollywood. 2 days at MGM Casinos ended up costing us most of our money. Sucks, since everyone seemed to have done well at their casinos in the past. CET is usually the bloodsucker. As if a fitting metaphor for this trip, we were given the Titanic Room.

Great view as well!

Dumpster is Diamond so I will break down the rest of the trip report into wins/loses and Diamond Lounge reviews. Friday is our last full day since we leave Las Vegas at 5:00PM Saturday. Everyone is now on full tilt and chasing their loses. The CET stay starts off great. We all chip in on a Giant $5.00 Spin & Win machine and take it for a hundo.

Do the same over at Ballys. Paris seemed to just be shitting out money for everyone. We stopped in a couple times and always took money off them. I was almost broke after the MGM run, but 4 spins in on the below machine at Paris fixed me right back up. I hit for the exact same thing last year. 100 times double bar.

Take some pictures of their Diamond Lounge. Very nice, great cupcakes and chips. Hot meals start at 4:00PM so just snacks for now.

Head to the Rio & things started off well, we each took $50+ off the same Napoleon & Josephine machine but that was it for wins there. Their DL is on the 2nd floor. A little more retro than the rest but everyone was very friendly.

Take the shuttle to Harrahs and I was shocked at how nice the Quad (IP) is now. From the outside. Inside it's the same toilet.

Caesars Palace seemed to be the king of all things Diamond with a lounge that's as big as all of the other ones combined.

Planet Hollywood is an escalator ride up to the second floor, small but nice. This one usually seems to be the emptiest from what I can tell.

Bally's only has one for 7 stars, I guess they just make you use Paris's. Flamingo seemed to be hopping, with decent chicken wings and spring roles.

DB keeps up his losing ways with a loss of almost $2,000 for the trip, the Dumpster seems to right the ship but still drops $1,200.00 I ended up pulling away with the below hits at the end of the trip but still posted a loss of $600.00.

Not bad for 4 days of 16 hours each of non stop gambling. Sorry this report is so choppy. We had plans to do things but once team Wolf Pack got a little taste of gambling, the wheels went off the cart!
