Use your Players Club Cards Correctly

Dance with the girl that you brought to prom. Sure in a city like Vegas is tempting to gamble everywhere every day. But this can kill your ADT. I like to hop from casino to casino myself and I still get great offers. So use your noodle. Check the side bar in this section, I broke down who owns what and where your players club card works. Pick a girl and play at her, or her sister’s places. Pretty easy. If Mandalay Bay throws me a free room for 2 nights I will ONLY play at Mlife casinos since they share the same card as Mandalay Bay does.

That way all of my gambling money for that day goes into fattening up the same club card. Sure it’s easy if you are staying at Mirage to play at Cesar’s to your right and Treasure Island to your left. But all you are going to do is make your play look smaller. Instead of gambling $300.00 a day at one club, you are now viewed as a $100.00 a day player in 3 clubs. And you won’t see many comps playing that way.

Don’t use your card if you are just passing through. If you are staying at Paris, but friends want to meet for lunch at Bellagio don’t use your card there. If you are just killing time on a video poker machine with your card in while you wait for them to show up you will destroy your ADT there. They consider each time a card is activated as a trip. If you played there 3 times that year already and dropped $10,000 each time. Instead of being a $10K per player you are now a $7,500 per player since you used your card to play $20.00 on a machine while you were passing through.

So don’t use your card unless you are going to play with your big boy pants on! Don’t use your card after you check out and are killing an hour until you leave for the airport! Be smart about it. Don’t think a few extra points on the card will do you good. Remember you are rated on your Daily Average! So don’t hurt yourself.

Say you have some comp money on your card. Don’t use it unless you are playing at those casinos that day. Using your card can trigger a visit even if you don’t gamble. That free lunch might cost you a free room on your next stay.

Pick a club that works for you. No one says you can’t play at every casino in Vegas. But if you like to hop around like I do, pick a club that has multiple properties. MGM Resorts (Mlife card) has 10 resorts and your card will count at 9 of them. They try to distance themselves from Circus Circus so they have their own card. Can’t say I don’t blame them. Caesars Entertainment (Total Rewards card) has a ton of local casinos; probably one near your home, so getting a card with them makes a ton of sense.

You might even have offers in Vegas even if you have never been to Vegas if you already have their card. Once you get in town, they have 8 casinos that your card will work in. Wynn has 2 as does the Venetian. But if you like to stay and play at one place, don’t over look the little guys. Since they don’t have multiple properties to seduce you, some of the smaller joints will throw out some great comps.

This might sound stupid, but make sure your card has registered before you start playing. I’ve been so horny being in a casino before that I’ve stuck in my card and went to town without realizing the little box wasn’t green. I was gambling for free! You already know it takes more money to earn points on your card when playing video poker. But some casinos give you less points for certain slot machines. We will cover this in each player club break down to your right.

And the best tip I can give you, cheat! That’s right I said it. Cheat! Not on a game but double dog your players club card. I’ll have my wife gamble on my card at one casino, and if we visit another casino that we are not staying at I use her card. After all 1 strong player looks better than 2 smaller players. I mean, we already share the room and eat the free food together. So does it do me any good to be sent a room for 2 nights, and her to get the same if we are staying together? Nope.

Now it does get sticky with who gets the free play. But as long as you give it to your wife, there is no argument! Now I have heard stories about casinos refusing to pay jackpots when someone else’s card is in the machine. But if its your husbands and you pull an oops, or just take your card out while waiting for the handpay I highly doubt this is a problem. But if it is, you are on your own!
