Gambling!

They boast 1,394 gambling machines in 129,000 Square Feet of casino excitement.

With 197 table & Poker Games you can find all your basics; Blackjack, 3 Card Poker, Baccarat (over a dozen tables) Craps, Let it Ride, Roulette etc. They also have Mini-Baccarat, Let-it-Ride, Pai Gow Poker and more. It’s the strip, if their neighbor has it, they have it!

You pretty much get 2 casinos in one here. The original casino, that is mostly table games and some slots scattered around & the newer Forum casino that connects right into the Forum shops. Your total rewards card is your key to getting your room comped. CP has everything you are looking for. Great pools, even a topless section. One of the greatest malls around. Plenty of onsite dining for any budget and a decent selection of slots. You can spend the week in here and never go outside.

And Best of all, you can ask "Did Caesar actually stay here" all you want and the will still answer. Although I'm the only one that thinks its funny to walk around saying " I'm not getting a sig' on my beeper".

What’s to eat?

A pretty solid food court but it’s stocked with house brand outlets. No McDonalds or the like, just no name joints selling similar type foods. You think they would pass the savings onto you, what with no licensing fees. But no. Noodle Number 9 if a fun place to eat and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. Everything is bright white and you are surrounded by huge gold fish tanks. Everyone in here is very friendly and the ambiance makes up for the few bucks extra you are paying for basic Chinese food.

To simplify your selection the following have been rated for value.

Cheap (reasonably priced for what you get). ‘Bout what you’d expect (if you don’t understand this you should stick to McDonalds). Holy Shit! (Unless you are used to your bill looking like your phone number stay away)

Now normally I would take the time to rate these places, but with some many options in here I never got around to actually checking the menus. Everything in the food court is pretty much $10.00 or less per meal. But outside of that you are on your own!

As Vegas eateries change almost hourly you might want to double check if these places are still in operation. This blog is very lazy with updates...

In no particular. Unless you consider alphabetical an order, Lord knows we don’t.

Hotel

With over 2,400 rooms the place is pretty small for the size of the property. Always check online to see what room you will be booking. They range from sort of shitty (Roman Tower) to Fabulous (Nobu).

Just because you are booked in a fabulous resort doesn't mean you will stay in a fabulous room.

The Room Basics

Most of the rooms here are hit or miss. So I won’t pretend to have stayed in them all. After all the joint is 50 years old, so most everything was built in spurts over the years. But I do know that the Roman tower is code word for shitbox. These are the lowest end rooms you are going to find here. Think motel 6 but without the updates. We stayed in the Augustus Tower and my review below is based off of that.

Large and comfortable, with a big Scarface bathroom. Separate Shower and a deep soaking tub.But don’t try using the shampoo to make bubble in the Jacuzzi tub. You are just asking for trouble (trust me I know). Nice sitting area, an OK bed and a pretty comfortable couch. You can spend plenty of time in this spacious room and just relax. Our room did have a picture missing from the wall but they didn’t blame us. I guess that means you can steal something big like that and get away with it.

What you need to know.

Cesar’s Palace is everything you think Vegas would be. No resort fees to pay, but that also means no free wifi or gym for you. But it never mattered to us, we are on vacation! With so many towers the views are very hit or miss. You might be looking out at the strip, one of the pools or get stuck with a freeway view.

In closing:

The place is very popular, and it’s the crown jewel of all the Harrahs properties. So much so, they renamed the company Caesars Entertainment once they took over the place. Be warned, if you use the topless pool you CAN be seen from a bunch of hotel rooms. In this day and age of digital zoom you never know who is watching. The Forum Shops are not to be missed. They have a couple free shows in here, audio-animatronics, but they have been down for maintenance the last few times we were in here.

What else you need to know?

They do have a Spa but if you want to get wet, hop in one of the many pools. But be warned, even though they have a topless section for woman, they will charge men for the free show! Which is not very fair since they can see me topless for free.

Major attractions.

Coliseum Showroom. This is mostly Celine Dion’s playground, but she shares the place with Elton John, Bette Middler & Cher when she is not performing.

Absinthe. Out in front, on the strip, is a little tent. This tiny theater is home to one of the funniest shows in town. Dirty Jokes, high risk stunts and a ton of very talented performers. Absinthe is not to be missed. But don’t pay full price! Someone is always standing around there handing out $20.00 off coupons.

What did a hundo get us?

We played through five $20.00 bills on various machines. If we bet $1.00 a spin, we give em 20 spins and cash out. $2.00 per spin is 10 spins. If you can’t wrap your brain around this math, please do not gamble. I am sure this test of the slots is insanely scientific. But your actual millage may vary.

1st machine: Wheel of Fortune. $2.00 Max Bet. Cashed out with $27.00. Major hit Wheel! But only for $25.00

2nd machine: Wheel of Fortune. $2.00 Max Bet. Cashed out with $32.00. Major hit Wheel! But only for $30.00

3rd machine: Double Double Blazing 7’s. $5.00 Max bet. Cashed out with $0.00 Major hit a slap in my face!

4th machine: Top Dollar. $3.00 per spin. Cashed out with $7.00. Major hit none.

5th machine Spin & Win. $5.00 Max Bet. Cashed out with $0.00 Major hit none

Total results. Turning $100.00 into $39 in 20 minutes seemed pretty easy. Assuming my math is correct, just stick to Wheel of Fortune in $1 denomination. They are always packed with players and the wheel seems to always hit a lot when I am here. Anything else, kiss your money good bye!
