Extension of Highway 73 St. Joseph to Beauceville 2004-2007

Work began in St.Joseph in 2004. One then carried out deforestation and begun the excavation in order to carry out phase 1 of the project. Then phase 2 was started. This phase included the construction of bridges and other structures at the junction of roads and rivers. Phase 3 began in June 2006. It consisted of the construction of the last segment of road towards Beauceville and the interchange at Golf road. Golf Road was widened from the interchange down to Route 173. This last phase of work has ended in November 2007. The total cost the project was $77 millions. Autoroute 73 now ends in Beauceville (Exit 61) with this new 10,8 KM segment.

Looking south on Highway73 in Beauceville in 2007: Exit 61 has been the south end of Autoroute 73 from 2007 to 2016. Since September 30th 2016, you can now drive south passed that exit because the missing link of Highway 73 finally opened connecting the southern part of Highway 73 already in use in Notre-Dame-des-Pins up to St-Georges.
