Pam Astudio Cymru, Ewrop a'r Byd?

Mae ein cymwysterau'n cael eu cydnabod yn eang, eu gwerthfawrogi a'u parchu gan gyflogwyr. Mae hyn yn golygu bod dysgwyr sydd wedi'u hachredu gan Agored Cymru mewn sefyllfa gref i ddod o hyd i swydd neu symud ymlaen yn eu gyrfa.

Mae'r cymhwyster wedi cael ei datblygu mewn partneriaeth ag amrywiaeth eang o sefydliadau, o Lywodraeth Cymru i'r cynghorau sgiliau sector. Mae hyn yn golygu ei bod yn bodloni gofynion rheoliadol, yn cyd-fynd â'r fframweithiau priodol ac yn bodloni blaenoriaethau addysg cenedlaethol.

Mae'n drywydd arbennig ar gyfer ein disgyblion sydd gyda diddordeb mawr mewn daearyddiaeth a hanes ond nid ydynt yn perfformio'n dda mewn arholiadau. 

Why Study Wales, Europe and the World?

Agored Cymru Units and Qualifications are widely recognised, valued and respected by employers. This means that Agored Cymru accredited learners are in a strong position to find a job or progress in their careers.

The qualification has been developed in partnership with a wide range of organisations from the Welsh Government to the sector skills councils. This means that they meet regulatory requirements, are aligned to the respective frameworks and meet national education priorities.

The qualification is a great alternative for pupils who do not typically thrive in examination style assessments, but have a strong interest in geography and history.

Mae'r asesiadau a ddefnyddir yn addas i’r diben ar gyfer yr unedau unigol a astudir a’r dysgwyr eu hun, ac yn cynhyrchu tystiolaeth o gyrhaeddiad o safbwynt holl feini prawf yr asesiad.

Mae'r cymhwyster Agored Cymru Lefel 2 Tystysgrif Estynedig yn gyfwerth a 2 gradd B yn TGAU.

Assessment is based 100% on coursework.  There are no prescribed assessment methods for this qualification.  Assessments are designed fit for purpose for the individual units studied and the learners themselves, and will generate evidence of achievement for all the assessment criteria.

This Agored Cymru Level 2 Extended Certificate qualification is equivalent to two B grades at GCSE.

Uned 1: Hanes Cymru: Yr Ugeinfed ganrif a’r Unfed ganrif ar hugain. 

Mae'r uned hon yn caniatáu i ddysgwyr ddatblygu dealltwriaeth a gwybodaeth o’r ugeinfed a'r unfed ganrif ar hugain yng Nghymru.

Bydd y dysgwr yn: The learner will:

Deall gwahanol ffynonellau gwybodaeth sydd ar gael i ymchwilio i'r ugeinfed a'r unfed ganrif ar hugain yng Nghymru a'u gwerth i haneswyr.

Adnabod nodweddion yr ugeinfed a'r unfed ganrif ar hugain yng Nghymru.

Deall sut mae dehongli hanes yn destun dadl a llunio a dadansoddi dadleuon.

Deall cysyniadau newid a pharhad dros amser.

Uned 2: Hanes Cymru: Rol unigolyn

Mae'r uned hon yn caniatáu i ddysgwyr ddatblygu dealltwriaeth a gwybodaeth o bwysigrwydd rôl unigolyn yn Hanes Cymru.

Deall a defnyddio gwahanol ffynonellau gwybodaeth sydd ar gael i ymchwilio i unigolyn a nodwyd yn hanes Cymru.

Deall rôl ffigwr hanesyddol yn hanes Cymru.

Deall pwysigrwydd cymharol ffactorau allweddol wrth asesu rôl ffigwr hanesyddol allweddol yn hanes Cymru.

Deall prif nodweddion dadl mewn perthynas â ffigwr hanesyddol allweddol yn hanes Cymru.

Uned 3: Amser hamdden yng Nghymru

Mae'r uned hon yn caniatáu i ddysgwyr archwilio ffyrdd y mae amser hamdden yn cael ei ddefnyddio yng Nghymru a sut mae hyn wedi newid yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf.

Deall y cysyniad o ‘amser hamdden’.

Adnabod yr ystod o gyfleoedd hamdden yng Nghymru.

Deall pwysigrwydd cymdeithasol ac economaidd gweithgareddau hamdden.

Uned 4: Daearyddiaeth Ffisegol a Hinsawdd Cymru

Beth yw prif nodweddion daearyddol Cymru?

• Beth yw’r prif fathau o dirffurfiau yng Nghymru a sut caiff eu ffurfio ?

• Sut mae daearyddiaeth Cymru yn effeithio ar yr hinsawdd, systemau trafnidiaeth, yr economi a defnydd tir yng Nghymru?

• Beth yw effeithiau posibl newid yn yr hinsawdd ar Gymru?

Sut mae daearyddiaeth a hinsawdd Cymru yn effeithio ar wahanol rhanbarthau?

• Disgrifio daearyddiaeth ffisegol a hinsawdd un rhanbarth yng Nghymru.

Uned 5: Fflora a Ffawna Cymru

Mae'r uned yma yn caniatáu i ddysgwyr adnabod Fflora a Ffawna Cymru a'r camau cadwraeth sydd ar waith i'w gwarchod. 

• Diffinio'r termau fflora, ffawna a chynefin.

• Disgrifio'r fflora a ffawna sy'n nodweddiadol o ystod o gynefinoedd yng  Nghymru. 

• Nodi enghraifft o Barc Cenedlaethol, gwarchodfa adar a Safle o Ddiddordeb Gwyddonol Arbennig a disgrifio'r rhesymau dros eu sefydliad. 

• Disgrifio'r bygythiadau posibl i rywogaethau yng Nghymru a achosir yn sgil newidiadau i'r amgylchedd ac amaethyddol. 

• Disgrifio'r effaith a gaiff ailgyflwyno neu warchod fflora a ffawna ar ardal. 

Uned 6: Ymwybyddiaeth Amgylcheddol

Deall effaith amgylcheddol unigolion, sefydliadau a chymdeithas.

• Diffinio ymwybyddiaeth amgylcheddol.

• Disgrifio materion amgylcheddol sy’n wynebu eich cymuned eich hun, Cymru a’r byd.

• Disgrifio sut y gallai problemau amgylcheddol fod wedi cael eu hachosi trwy weithredoedd eich hun, a gan sefydliadau a’r gymdeithas.

• Disgrifio pam ei bod yn bwysig diogelu’r amgylchedd.

• Disgrifio’r newidiadau y gellir eu gwneud i wella’r amgylchedd yng Nghymru, Ewrop a'r byd.

Gallu effeithio’n gadarnhaol ar yr amgylchedd.

• Disgrifio camau personol sydd wedi effeithio ar yr amgylchedd mewn ffordd gadarnhaol.

Unit 1: Welsh History: The Twentieth and Twenty First Centuries

The unit allows learners to develop understanding and knowledge the twentieth and twenty first centuries in Wales.

The learner will:

Understand different sources of information available to investigate the twentieth and twenty first centuries in Wales and their value to historians.

Know the characteristics of the twentieth and twenty first centuries in Wales.

Understand how the interpretation of history is subject to debate and controversy.

Understand concepts of change and continuity over time.

Unit 2: Welsh History: The Role of an Individual

The unit allows learners to develop understanding and knowledge of the importance of the role of an individual in Welsh History.

Understand and use different sources of information available to investigate an identified individual in Welsh history.

Understand the role of a historical figure in Welsh history.

Understand the relative importance of key factors in assessing the role of a key historical figure in Welsh history.

Know the main line(s) of debate in relation to a key historical figure in Welsh history.

Unit 3: Leisure Time in Wales

This unit allows learners to explore ways in which leisure time is used in Wales and how this has changed in recent years.

Understand the concept of ‘leisure time’.

Know the range of leisure opportunities in Wales.

Understand the social and economic importance of leisure activities.

Unit 4: Physical Geography and Climate of Wales

What are the principal geographic features of Wales?

• What are the main types of landforms in Wales and how were they formed?

• How does the geography affect the climate, transport systems, the economi and land use in Wales? 

• What potential effects could climate change have on Wales?

The geography and climate and their effect in different regions in Wales.

• Describe the physical geography and climate of one region of Wales.

• How does the geography and climate affect the economy and culture of that region of Wales?

• Compare the geography and climate across regions of Wales.

How do the effects of geography and climate in Wales compare with the effects in another country?

• Describe the geography and climate of one region of another country.

• How does the geography and climate affect the economy and culture of the chosen country?

• Compare and contrast the effects of geography and climate in Wales with those of the chosen country.

Unit 5: Flora and Fauna of Wales

The unit allows learners to identify the Flora and Fauna of Wales and the conservation measures in place to protect them.

• Define the terms flora, fauna and habitat. 

• Describe the flora and fauna in a typical range of habitats in Wales.

• Identify an example of a National Park, a bird sanctuary and a Site of Special Scientific Interest and describe the reasons for their establishments. 

• Describe possible threats to species in Wales posed by environmental and agricultural changes. 

• Describe an effect that re-introduction or protection of fauna and flora has on an area. 

Unit 6: Environmental Awareness

Understand the environmental impact of individuals, organisations and society.

• Define environmental awareness.

• Describe environmental issues that face your own community, Wales and the world.

• Describe how environmental problems could have been caused by your own actions, by organisations and by society.

• Describe why it is important to protect the environment.

• Describe the changes that can be made to improve the environment in Wales, Europe and the world.

Be able to affect the environment positively.

• Describe personal actions that have affected the environment in a positive way.

• Describe further personal actions that could be carried out to help minimise environmental damage.

Know of organisations that support the environment.

• Identify organisations that support and advise on environmental issues locally, in Wales, and in the UK.
