I hope you had a great week and wanted to again remind you of the STACK UP Challenge. Don't forget to submit a photo of yourself cup stacking from home if you want to be part of this world record event. See the Stack Up website for more details on how to register and submit your photo. This week's cup stacking video will teach you how to combine the skills of doing a 3-6-3 stack, a 6 -6 stack and finally a 1-10-1 stack. Doing these three together makes what they call stacking "the cycle". I found it beneficial to slow down the clip in the settings (gear in the corner) and playing it back slowly so the students could keep up with the technique. Then you can speed it up and see how well you can keep up with it. Good luck.
Also this week we have been working on some volleyball skills. These skills can be worked on at home as well with a balloon, beach ball, volleyball, light weight playground ball, or even with a balled up sweatshirt rolled into a ball and use the arms to wrap around the body of the sweatshirt if you don't have any other options. These videos have some great lead up drills and skill and will help you with throwing and catching as well. NO NET?!! NO PROBLEM. Lots of volleyball skills can be practiced without the use of a net. You probably want to go outside if you are using anything other than a balloon through. I will also include a video on breaking down the skill of an underhand serve. We typically use this style of serving when we start playing volleyball games.
