This week, we are only going to have a skills assessment for the students in grade 4 - 5. This skill assessment is on a backhand throw (frisbee). Younger students are welcome to practice the skill of throwing a frisbee as well, but their only requirement would be to complete the accountability form for staying active for 45 minutes. The video below will help with the older students completing the skills assessment, but also gives some tips to those younger players and some activity ideas for throwing frisbees.
The second video gives a few activities like catching like an alligator and a keep away game that can be played with a frisbee as well.
If you have time and feel like venturing out as a family to test your frisbee throwing skills, there are disc golf courses that are in Robinson Park over near HWY 54 heading toward Plover and also on the north side of Lake Wazeecha.
Also featured this week is a game that was created by some of my fourth grade students at Grove called Walley-ball. They play the game at recess and really wanted to share it so if you have a playground ball and a wall you can try this game as well.
