There are 20,000 activists trying to stop pollution. There are 3 kinds of pollution, air pollution, water pollution, and ground pollution.
One kind of pollution is air. The air can be polluted by coal powered machines because the machines let dirty smoke in our environment. Smog and soot killed 20 people and made 7,000 more sick. Mostly all transportation have ways to pollute the air, like cars, trucks, trains, and airplanes.
Here are some ways to help air pollution: don’t smoke because the smoke gets into the air and the smoke isn’t good for the air, walk or ride a bike whenever possible because the smoke from cars isn’t good to breath, you should plant lots of trees so the air can more clean, last don’t use fire to get rid of plastic or chemicals because the chemicals get into the air and it might kill trees.
Another kind of pollution is water. In 1989, 11 million gallons of oil was accidently spilled into the ocean and killed hundreds of thousands of birds, fish, and other wildlife because the oil was not good for them. There are 100,000 animals that die because of plastic being left on beach so when tide comes in, it can end up in the water. Some of the most common trash found in the ocean are plastic bottles, plastic bags, cigarettes, straws, beverage cans, paper bags, and styrofoam cups.
Some ways to help stop water pollution is to always recycle your trash in the proper waste baskets. Otherwise, plastic thrown on ground can end up in the ocean and animals could consume and die from it.
The last kind of pollution is ground. If oil or other bad liquids are poured onto the ground it can sink into the dirt and get into the grass. Animals could then eat the grass and it will most likely kill the animal.
Some ways to help stop ground pollution are NO pesticides, use non-toxic cleaning supplies, and never dispose oils of any kind in the sink.
