Animal shelters do way more than just help animals, they help communities. Having animal shelters in the community is important because they provide homes for unwanted animals, provide people with new members to the family, and improve animal health. These animals need the love that they lost when they came into the shelter. Animal shelters rescue stray animals before the hurt themselves, hurt others, or never find their homes. According to the (ASPCA), 7.6 million companion enter shelters in the U.S. each year.
