We all may get bullied or Cyberbullied at some point in our lives. The problem is, most teens never tell adults when it happens. 75% of bullying happens when a Guardian/Parent/Teacher is not present in that area. Most teens think that it is too hard to speak up. It’s not, so I am gonna tell you how.
The first thing you would want to do is tell an adult. Tell the adult who is bullying you and how they are doing it. Tell your parents to so your school can sort of watch over what is happening there. You can also tell the Principal because it is really important for an adult to know that you or other are being bullied.
You can put up posters or ask your school to start a group about stopping bullying, Making posters can really help spread the word and the posters should always be polite.
Most bullies are probably going to say something really mean in a text or a comment, but in reality, they probably wouldn't say that while face to face. The truth is, bullies just make fun of people because they probably feel bad about themselves. You can text adults or friends to ask for help. You can also call or text: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Those people specialize in helping people who are being bullied or have thoughts of suicide. If texting feels wrong, (Which it isn’t..) speak to an adult in person. You always have someone to talk to, whether it’s a Teacher, Parent, Or friends, You will always have someone to talk to and to support you everyday.
If you don’t have a cellphone or a tablet or any electronic device you can use for communicating, and have no one you can talk to about it, then contact your school in person. Talking in person may be hard, but it can help a lot. When you are talking to a person, you should always tell someone what the bully's name is and what they are exactly doing to you, You can tell the adult where it is happening and when it does usually happen.
If you do have electronics, try to speak up by posting how your being bullied, and put #STOPBULLYING at the end of your post to spread the word. There are many hashtags that can tell others that: ¨Hey! Bullying is not cool!¨ Whenever you see a post about Anti-Bullying, like it and repost it even! All you need to do is say something for people to hear you. Some people start organizations at their school that discuss things like that.
And last but definitely not least, speak up in class. Schedule a certain time where you can talk to your class about you or others being bullied. This can be a very good thing, You can encourage other kids to look around or speak up. You can also be like the school police, stopping crime and helping the students who are being bullied.
Don’t bully the Bully, Make peace and spread the love. Always tell an adult on what is happening, because you matter. Everyone deserves to be equal and accepted in the community and not to be harassed and bullied for being different. Some people just get Bullied because of what they believe in or because they have a different skin color. It is your business if someone is getting harassed and bullied. Never EVER bully another person even if they were really mean to you. BUllying is never the answer.
