On a rare occasion we are able to either transfer stock from one state to another eg NSW to VIC or we are able to do an internal transfer from one location code within the Winning group eg, wa-dc-syd to our AOL locations eg 201MAIN. Both of these different transfers need approval by your TL or other respected managers with authority within Winnings. The reasoning behind us limiting the amount of transfers being done is, firstly it costs the business money, we have to contact our third party logistics companies eg Border express to transport the goods, the pricing can change depending on the unit and the quantity being shipped, secondly, there's a huge risk with units being damaged during transit especially on long trips eg WA to NSW, resulting the business in losing more money. We always suggest to either upgrade the customer or offer compensation, transfers are a last resort solution!
Ensure there is stock to transfer first , if we raise a TO and leave it open , it may flag for the algorithm to order
Check that there is no other stock in other locations that we could possible use instead of transferring stock by going to stock keeping units
Search the SKU and set a filter for Inventory > 0
If “Qty Available” is greater than 1 in a commercial location in the same state, see if that can be used instead
If there is no available stock to transfer from other locations in the same state, then forward the transfer to the respective warehouse and cc the relevant people
