For this project, students will choose what they would like to create.
Choice-Based Art promotes the importance of giving students choice over their artwork to help make the process and subject personal to the young artist. It also allows students to grow at their own pace and helps them build on their previous knowledge of the materials they are using by giving them the opportunity to respond to their own ideas and creative process.
They can use any type of art mediums or art tools to create their artwork (paint, watercolors, glue, scissors, pencils, markers, crayons, oil crayons, sidewalk chalk, and etc.) the young artists may also use multiple art tools to create their project.
They can make their artwork as a Collage or Drawing or Folding Surprise Art or a Painting or a Mask or a Landscape (picture of land) or a Robot from recycled materials or a Creative Self-Portrait or their Favorite Character or artwork made from nature or a completely Abstract Picture made from lines, shapes, and colors. these are just some examples of what they can create.
The young artists can use their creativity and imagination to create their artwork. If a little help is needed, they may use videos, pictures, or books to help them create their artwork.
Below are some examples of choice-projects that students have created before.
