Ossea is a genus of broad, extensive Morta species thought to be at least 90 million years old. These plants rapidly, clonally proliferate, blanketing everything in proximity. Primitive photosynthesis is performed within each tendril segment, and the central stalk often relies on the predation of faunal species to fuel its development. Its tendrils are utilized to quickly snatch organisms from the land and sky, although the enormous amounts of energy required to facilitate this ensures that the use of predation is restricted. They typically grow to a maximum stalk height of 10 ft (3 m) and a maximum tendril spread of 100 square miles (299 square kilometers) and are found in acrid environments on Arere, Pratoria, and Tarnen.
Pictured to the right is Ossea pratoria, an acrid-dwelling species native to Pratoria.
