Grana

Grana is a genus of small, low-lying Ascendia species thought to date back over 15 million years. They mostly survive off of the decomposition of igneous rock, but some photosynthesis does take place. Typically growing up to 1 ft (.30 m) tall, they reside only in Vulcan environments in the Arere-based archipelago of Lavare.
