Littoral

The littoral biome exists along Xi’ialoa’s many continents’ long, convoluted coastlines, and is characterized by rocky shorefronts that give way to winding rock formations similar to Malagasy tsingy, the result of extreme tides and seasonal wave action. One notable denizen is the nocturnal, semi-troglodytic spelaea, a giant, rubbery-skinned, pitch-black predatory invertebrate with a winding, segmented body and six spindly legs. Spelaeas predate burrowing invertebrates (i.e. Cuniculas), diurnally retreating into rocky outcroppings and caves. Littoral areas are present on Arere, Ciele, Doru, Pratoria, and Tarnen.
