Mitsukaspis is a genus of small, parthenogenic Sweala species with slingshot jaws. While individual shapes/sizes differ between species, each is characterized by a small physique, proportionally large head, and gaping slingshot jaws reminiscent of those of Earth's goblin shark.
Long-Jawed Sprix
(Mitsukaspis scapani)
The Long-Jawed Sprix, Mitsukaspis scapani, is a small carnivorous species of sprix typically residing in humid, morass-centric environments. They reside in morasses in Pratoria and are immediately recognizable by their retractable, jagged jaws and small stature. They reproduce entirely parthenogenically, creating egg-like structures and hatching them much akin to Earth's birds. As such, genetic variation is hard to come by in sprix populations, and it is currently not understood how this interferes with species survival. They typically grow to around 1 ft (.305 m) long and typically weigh around 1 lb (.454 kg).
