Vulcan

Vulcan biomes are another biome unique to Xi'ialoa, characterized by the large spreads of igneous rock upon which their foundations are built. After volcanic eruptions, Ascendia species latch onto the newly formed rock, solidifying their hold on creating a new ecosystem. Almost like Earth's primary succession, species begin living on these islands of rock, forming a fully-functioning ecosystem within decades. Cunicula species in the ocean unwittingly merge the new igneous rock with the existing seafloor, effectively creating an island. Vulcan environments are found only on the island of Lavare (Arere) and the surrounding archipelago.
