Stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains, our Pacific Cascade Region includes the widely diverse counties of Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark and Skamania, along with southeast Grays Harbor. Unique to the region are the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Mount St. Helens volcano, Yacolt Burn State Forest, and Toutle Ridge. Our Pacific Cascade region includes 480,000 acres of state forest, agriculture, and urban and conservation lands, and the staff oversee forest practices and lead wildfire prevention and fighting efforts on 3.5 million acres of state and private forest land. Region staff also manage numerous DNR natural preserves and natural resource conservation areas, and work with volunteers to provide visitors with access to 33 recreation sites from which to explore these amazing landscapes.
