Nevada is mostly a rural state with 2 urban counties. Clark County includes the citys of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, and Mesquite. Washoe County includes Sparks and Reno. Primary public fire protection services are provided by local and county FDs. The County FDs typically cover the unincorporated areas of their respective counties. Wildfire protection is provided by BLM, USFS, Nevada Department of Forestry, FWS, BIA, military, county and local FDs. Huge areas of the state are rangelands where the BLM provides wildfire management. Police services are provided by the Nevada Highway Patrol, County Sheriff offices, and local city PDs. Ambulance services are provided by county ambulance services, local ambulance services, and fire departments. Medevac services are run by private companies and the military.
