I voted, now what?

Because of the large number of absentee ballots cast this year, a handful of states will not have their final results for a few more days. Tallying absentee ballots takes longer because each ballot has to be opened by hand and certified as valid before election officials count it. The timeline from the Associated Press shows the legal deadlines by which states must complete their counts, along with other steps in the process of choosing the president.
