Pronunciation: KEL
The Kel Islands are found in the southeastern corner of the Iothian Sea, and they are some of the farthest landmasses from the main continent. The three islands host swift-growing forests of short but sturdy trees beyond their rocky shores. Despite their rate of growth, the forests never grow very tall, as the islands' proximity to the Stormwall brings frequent tropical storms, some powerful enough to rip the trees from the from the soil. Rocky peaks and outcroppings prevent vegetation from being destroyed entirely, allowing damaged areas to be reseeded.
The Kel Islands were uninhabited until the Iron Fang Era, when the Cult of Kalmirag traveled there in search of a secluded land where they could worship their archdevil in peace. Shosané brought the islands under their control during the Rebuilding Era, arranging for the cult to be left intact in exchange for cooperation in establishing an outpost for fishing in the area and researching the Stormwall. The cult practices faded over time, but the island's population retains a high percentage of tieflings.
