The Scar is a rogue section of the Shattered Coast landscape, which extends further south and is completely cut off from the Thestron Sea. It is a deep ravine with a dark, chilly lake pooling at the bottom, and pillars of land jutting upwards, reaching almost to the surface. Scooped out ledges and entrances to narrow tunnels riddle the walls of the ravine, serving as homes for various wildlife, and occasionally for people as well. The lake is fed by underground rivers, making it a surprisingly good source of freshwater, if one is able to access it.
The Scar has served as important source of water throughout history, with each new civilization building their own pulley bucket or water pump system to maneuver the water to a more easily accessible location. The Scar has also served as a defensible barrier between the Erimead and Byspell Plains, in times where a group from one needed to fend off a group from the other. Battles have been fought over access to the lake, with the fighting spreading precariously close to fatal falls and across bridges and pillars.
