The Stormwall is an impenetrable wall of violent storms that rings the known world. The outer reaches are passable, if perilous, but the winds and waters further in rage so fiercely that every boat ever sailed there has washed back in pieces, if it washes back at all. The Stormwall often affects the weather of areas near it, kicking up wind, rain, floods, and storms of the more mundane variety, and sending them spinning out into the world. The Stormwall rotates in a clockwise direction around Altandor, so the weather is spawns arcs out in a similar direction before moving more towards the center.
Many researchers have studied the Stormwall, tracking the weather conditions through the ages and running mundane and magical tests to collect data, though there's little to learn about it that isn't already known. Scholars disagree on whether the Stormwall splits Altandor from a second clear-skied hemisphere of the world, or whether Altandor simply lies in the eye of a massive storm that spans the entire rest of the globe.
