Mavi'ru plants are a type of fungi originating from Xebrik. They are popular decorations, not just because of their stunning appearance that can be easily shaped into pleasing forms, but because they have so many uses.
While not true fruit, the underside of the mavi'ru mushrooms can be pulled off and eaten and the sweetness and appearance has lead to many people calling them fruit regardless. They are very sweet in flavour, specifically to attract herbivores. The animals would pull the fruit free, releasing a burst of spores hidden underneath as they did, allowing them to spread.
the tops of mavi'ru mushrooms can be dried and used in tea. Mavi'ru tea is exceptionally popular with those who experience high amounts of anxiety, and is said to have a calming effect. The tea made with dried mavi'ru is sweat, but hearty.
Mavi'ru vines were an incredibly popular building material throughout Kepek history. They could be folded and twisted into any shape desirable, and then set in place using a special resin-like material. This made the vines become rigid but exceptionally strong.
They could also be cut into planks once set for smaller, more delicate items such as jewellery boxes.
Today, more efficient building materials have been created, but many old-school tradesmen still make things from mavi'ru vines and many products made from other materials are still coloured a dark purple artificially to mimic the appearance of items made from the vines
