Burad

Overview

Burads are the gentle giants of Vakib's dark side. These enormous beasts were domesticated by the Ikta, both to use as beasts of burden but also as a source of milk and historically, meat. Burads are often ridden by the Kepek in the coldest regions of Vakib, where frequent blizzards make travel using more modern methods of transportation challenging and unreliable. They are very timid and easily spooked due to their history as prey animals. It takes a lot of training and a lot of faith in their riders to overcome this aspect of their nature, which is why the Ikta are so protective of them. To the Ikta, betraying the trust your burad put onto you is one of the worst things someone can do.

Potential colouration

Wild burad are usually covered in pale, icy blue fur that helps them blend into their icy environment. Their tails are often much more vibrant colours, ranging from deep blue to light pink, which they use to signal to other members of the herd.

domestic burad typically range in colour with various shades of brown, black or white bodies, with brightly coloured tails.
