The Darukip System is an independent system that is home to the planet Vakib. It is located in the Katus Nebula, and was formally part of the Evenilap fleet's colonies until a recent war lead to them separating from the Kepek Commonwealth. Calling Darukip a star system might be a bit of a stretch, however, as it consists of a red dwarf star with only a single planet orbiting and a few loose pieces of space debris such as asteroids and the remains of old Kepeki spaceships.
Vakib is home to one of the Kepek's oldest planetary settlements and is the newest Independent territory in the galaxy. It was established 9,500 Bektep orbits ago out of desperation to find an even remotely inhabitable planet before the ship carrying the original settlers ran out of fuel and supplies. They stopped on Vakib and found, despite it being tidally locked and orbiting a red dwarf star, it had zones on its surface that were habitable.
Today, there are two main populations of Kepek living on Vakib, the Gavradi, who live primarily underground on the planet's hot side, and the Ikta, who have adapted to live on the surface of the planet's cold side.
The ICF.Adrik'kad was the interstellar colony flagship the Gavradi and Ikta's ancestors used to reach Vakib. Long dead and abandoned, the ship follows the orbit of Vakib closely, giving the appearance of a static, artificial moon in the sky. However, during the Vakibi war of independence, the ship was restarted and used as a base of defensive operations. After sustaining damage during an attack, long forgotten defensive technology kicked in, destroying any electronic devices (including ships) that come near it. With no one able to get close enough to turn it off, the wreck has once again been abandoned.
