Hyperspace

Hyperspace is the name given to the space between wormholes opened by warp drives. When ships open these wormholes, it creates a "tunnel" of sorts, connecting one opening directly to another, but hyperspace is much more vast than that. You can occasionally see others who are travelling through hyperspace as well if two tunnels are close enough. It's even possible leave the tunnel you are travelling in and access another, though doing so is exceptionally dangerous. There are no known cases of someone leaving their tunnel, venturing into wider hyperspace and returning to document their findings.

Environment

Hyperspace is an extremely volatile, extremely radioactive place. It is not recommended one leave their ship while in hyperspace. Large-scale ships are capable of being able to protect their inhabitants, but smaller, private ships typically struggle. They can protect their inhabitants, but often sustain massive damage in the process, meaning their warp-drives are usually single-use only.
