The Bektep Space Station is the capital of the Kepek Commonwealth. It's located in the outer ring of the Galaxy, in the Telab Sector. The station is one of the biggest non-natural structures in the Galaxy, with its largest ring having a 200,000km diameter.
In the ring of asteroids that have formed around the station, there is a thriving population of purnekel. The purnekel don't typically like to stay in inhabited systems, especially ones as heavily populated and busy as the Vax'bakrud System - Bektep's home system, however, with the help of astrofarmers and heavily controlled ship traffic, the Bektep Station has managed to keep the purnekel not only safe but thriving. As a result, The Bektep Space Station is one of the largest exporters of purnekel by-products such as fins (used for the creation of space suits) and purnekel eggs (a delicious delicacy).

The Bektep Space Station's environment was created by the Kepek to be the perfect home, and as such, the artificial geography is perfectly crafted to suit them. From the outside, the habitable zones appear to be solid metal, however, the interiors are gorgeous landscapes and sceneries, like you would expect to see on any planet, and sprawling mega-cities. Every zone has a different environment and climate, but their goal is the simulate the conditions of their lost home world. The “skies” of the habitable zones are metal but are painted with chromatashift-paint, giving them the appearance of a dynamic and ever-changing sky. Combined with the simulated weather and atmosphere events, the "skies" of Bektep look as natural as those on any planet.
Interestingly, the Kepek civilisation was mostly built around the polar regions of their home planet, and so Bektep has no "day and night cycle" as we would recognise it, instead it mimics polar summer and polar winter, meaning the artificial sky is set to "day" for half of Bektep's Orbit, and "night" for the other half, with a few months of twilight in between.
The Upper Rings
The upper rings refer to the two large, rotating rings at the top of the Bektep Space Station. The outer ring is where you will be most likely to encounter tourists or those who have moved to the Bektep Space Station from other parts of the Galaxy, astrofarmers - who need to be able to easily leave the station to tend to their flocks, and those who work in other parts of the Vax'bakrud System. As a result, this region is the most culturally diverse in the whole station and possibly the whole commonwealth thanks to Bektep's political position as the seat of the empire and the meeting point for all the Interstellar Colony fleets and Ships. The Inner Ring tends to be home to a lot of people who work in the technology and science sectors and is one of the best place to go to find the most cutting-edge technology in the galaxy.
The Dome
The Dome is a large habitable zone in the centre of the Bektep Space Station's upper rings. It is sometimes referred to as the Heart of Bektep or The Heart of The Commonwealth, as it's where the Kepek Royal Family live, where the Kepek Commonwealth Council meets and is the home of many of Bektep's politicians.
The Lower Rings
The Lower rings were added later when Bektep's population began to outgrow the Upper Rings and The Dome. The smaller dome structures that extend from the top Lower Rings were found to be ideal for terrestrial farms and are the more "rural" regions. Terrestrial farms are present in the Upper Rings, but they are built underneath the city, whose streets and buildings are all elevated to maximise space, whereas the farms in the Lower Rings are dedicated spaces.
The Wall
The Wall is the collective name for the apartments built into the interior walls of the Bektep Space Station's various rings and habitable zones. Most Kepek live with their families in big housing complexes or towers, but most of those who call The Wall home are those who have been kicked out or ostracised from their families, something that carries a lot of taboo within [[Kepek]] society, especially the among the Bektepi.
Bektep Asteroid Field
The Bektep Asteroid Field is a ring of asteroids that orbit the station. These asteroids are harvested for minerals, and serve as a home to the purnekel flocks kept by the station's inhabitance.
