World Scout Badge

All boys who are new to Scouting will have to undertake this simple entry test during the first few Troop Meetings. Recruits who have passed will undergo an Investiture ceremony, in which the St. Andrew's Scout Group scarf and the traditional yellow-piped cap will be presented upon making the Scout Promise, marking the start of their Scouting journey.

To pass this badge, you must complete the following:

Tell a Leader about your hobbies and interests and what you like doing the best
Join a Six and know the name of other members of your Six and take part in an activity with them
Get to know other Cub Scouts and Leaders by taking part in at least 2 meetings
Read the “Jungle Book” or “Story of Kim” by Rudyard Kipling and discuss with your Leader on the story
Know the meaning of the badges you will get when you are invested and how to care for your Troop Scarf
Name the 4 Progress Badges and at least 1 Proficiency Badge
Know the Scout Promise and Law. Discuss with your Leader or Parent about how you can put them into practice each day
Know how to make the Scout Salute
Find out about the Founder of the Scout Movement and name a pioneer in Singapore Scouting
Meet someone who helps the Troop other than the Scout Leaders
Know what to do in the investiture
